Implant-Secured Bridges

Dental implants are attractive prosthetic teeth that fill gaps in your smile caused by missing teeth. The implant creates a secure bond with your jawbone through a process called osseointegration, making it feel like a natural tooth.

We also combine dental implants with other treatments for better results. If you’re missing two or more adjacent teeth, Dr. Yaz might recommend an implant-supported dental bridge.

An implant-supported bridge uses two or more dental implants as anchors. This approach protects your natural teeth and stimulates healthy jawbone growth. The result is an attractive, comfortable, and convenient way to restore your complete smile.

The Benefits of Dental Implants

A dental implant has three essential parts working together. The fixture anchors securely to your jawbone. The abutment connects the fixture to your visible tooth. The porcelain crown replaces your missing tooth and completes your smile. Together, these pieces create a restoration that functions and looks like a natural tooth.

When you restore missing teeth with dental implants, you gain several important benefits:

Aesthetics

Only the permanent crown is visible, and that’s what makes your smile beautiful. At Salt and Smile Dental Co, we craft our crowns from durable porcelain, a tooth-colored material that reflects light just like your natural teeth. The result is a restoration that looks completely natural and blends seamlessly with your smile.

Confidence

Whether you suffer from tooth loss or poorly-fitting dentures, your concerns about your smile will often cause you to avoid social settings such as family gatherings. With dental implants, you’ll get a brand new tooth that looks, feels, and functions like your natural smile. We can even bolster the performance of a whole arch of teeth using implant-supported dentures.

Quality of Life

Dental implants enhance your appearance, speech, and comfort. One of the most significant advantages they offer, though, is improving your health. Tooth loss leads directly to the destruction of vital bone mass in your jaw. But dental implants preserve your smile by promoting healthy jawbone growth.

Safety

Our dental implant process typically takes three to six months to complete, from implant surgery to final restoration placement. For your comfort and convenience, we provide a fully functional temporary crown that protects your smile while you heal.

Comfort

Removable dentures can slip, slide, and even fall out of your mouth. Furthermore, you need to take them out for cleaning after meals and before bedtime. Dental implants, on the other hand, are a permanent part of your smile.

The Dental Implant Process

Dental implants are an excellent restoration for patients seeking a healthy, stable smile. Not everyone is immediately ready for implants, though. Some patients need supplemental treatment first to prepare their smile for success.

Bone grafting and gum disease treatment are the most common preparatory procedures. These treatments strengthen your jaw and gums, making you a good candidate for dental implants.

The good news: we can often complete the entire implant process in just three appointments.

Your Consultation

No matter the situation, restoring your smile with dental implants near you begins when you visit Dr. Yaz for a consultation. During your visit, he’ll examine your mouth, ask you some questions about your medical and dental history, and describe your available treatment options.

At this time, he’ll also tell you if you’re ready to start the implant process, or if you’ll require any supplemental procedures before you begin.

Implant Placement

After Dr. Yaz clears you for treatment, he’ll surgically place the implant fixture, the part of the implant that secures it to your jawbone. First, he’ll make a small incision in the gums to expose the bone. Using our advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment, he’ll place the implant fixture in the most advantageous location.

Your Final Restoration

The implant fixture will require some time to bond to your jawbone; this can take up to six months. Then you’ll return to our office where Dr. Yaz will attach your permanent crown. We custom-design your porcelain crown to match the shape, size, and color of your smile, so you’ll be ready to show it to your friends and family as soon as you leave our office.

Caring for Your Mission Valley Dental Implant

Our patients really appreciate how easy it is to care for their dental implants. Just remember to brush twice a day, floss daily, and visit Dr. Yaz for checkups twice a year.

Unlike dentures, you won’t need special cleaning products for your implants and you’ll never have to remove them for cleaning because they’re a permanent part of your smile.
