What is a dental bridge near you?

A Mission Valley dental bridge is a tooth-replacement treatment that’s designed to restore a gap in your smile. A prosthetic tooth that’s attached to a bridge is referred to as a pontic. Dr. Yaz can use a dental bridge to secure one or more pontics.

At Salt and Smile Dental Co., we might recommend a bridge for the following reasons:

  • To make your smile whole again
  • To more evenly distribute bite force and pressure
  • To make chewing easier
  • To allow you to speak more clearly
  • To prevent your natural teeth from shifting out of place

We feature two types of dental bridges to serve you: a fixed bridge or an implant-supported bridge. We’ll help you choose the bridge that’s right for you depending on the number of missing teeth and their position.

Fixed Bridge

A fixed bridge is secured in place by attaching it to your natural teeth. For this procedure, Dr. Yaz will use the teeth at each end of the gap to serve as anchors for your pontic.

Dr. Yaz will prepare the teeth that anchor your dental implant by placing dental crowns on top of them. Then we’ll fasten your bridge to the crowns using special dental adhesive.

Implant-Supported Bridge

An implant-supported bridge is another way to restore a gap in your smile.

While fixed bridges attach directly to crowns that are connected to your natural teeth, an implant-supported bridge is secured using two or more Mission Valley dental implants.

Dental implants are a very stable way to secure a dental bridge, and they also stimulate healthy jawbone growth, which is something no other restoration can provide.
